Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is from a multi-cultural household. Born in South London. The father of her is Nigerian and Swiss, while her mother is English. Her family was raised in a south London council estate, and went to The Brit School at age fourteen. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. While at school she appeared in numerous stage plays, including the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe's acting journey began with Storm Damage. In the following years, she appeared in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her first role in a film was Woody Allen's 2007 film Cassandra's Dream opposite Colin Farrell, Ewan McGregor. Then, she appeared in Elisha on a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In her role, she also played Ollie for six episodes of Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was the main character in How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy released in the year 2008. The credits on stage for Madekwe are Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her official US debut in the 2009 Drama series The Beautiful Life, which just aired two episodes for The CW before being cancelled. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. Madekwe appeared in all episodes of the series' initial two seasons as the show's regular. However, in May of 2013, announcement was made that she would quit the show due to her appearance as a guest on the premiere episode of its third season. Madekwe starred as Tituba in the television series Salem between 2014 and 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend of many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They've collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl as well as he is also a part of the cast on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress nominated twice for a Gemini Award, is a member of an extensive Hamilton family. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with her four brothers, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. The brothers of Ashley were extremely athletic and played baseball and hockey throughout the winter as well as in the summer. They grew up playing the arenas and baseball. Ashley did not have the ability to walk but she was able to dance. When she turned two-and-a-half she took up Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley developed a passion for dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley performed in competitive ballet, tap and jazz in the high divisions. Every big dance events, such as International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance which have awarded her the title "top soloist".
